Epicor vs. Life: The Parallel Lessons

Life is complicated. So is Epicor.

But the funny thing is, the more I’ve worked with ERP systems like Epicor, the more I’ve realized how much life and ERP have in common. Sounds crazy, right? Let me explain.

Take the concept of workflows. In Epicor, workflows are designed to keep things moving. One task flows seamlessly into the next if you’ve set it up correctly, of course. In life, we’re constantly managing our own “workflows,” like getting out of bed, making coffee, and tackling a to-do list. Miss one step and suddenly everything feels off. Forget your coffee? Good luck being productive.

Then there is troubleshooting. ERP systems are never perfect. There is always a bug, a mismatch, or some weird issue no one can figure out. Sound familiar? Life throws curveballs all the time. Just like with Epicor, you do not solve every problem by brute force. Sometimes, you need a workaround or a creative solution.

And let’s not forget updates. Epicor updates are essential to keep everything running smoothly, but they can be a headache. Similarly, in life, we all need our own “updates.” Learning new skills, adapting to change, and staying relevant. Sure, it is annoying, but it is also necessary.

What is the takeaway here? Whether it is life or ERP, the key is the same. Stay flexible, stay curious, and do not let the bugs get you down.

Now, I am curious. What do you think? Ever had a moment where life felt like troubleshooting an ERP system? If so, we are in this weird, buggy ride together.
